When a flat tire isn't the worst part of your day, I guess it's time to just take a deep breath and accept it's just one out of the 23,000+ days you've spent trying to live right.
Yesterday a mild tooth pain of a few days escalated into a visit to dentist #1 who sent me to dentist #2 - endodontist, for those of you have been there and done that root canal thing.
In hindsight maybe I should have just asked dentist #1 to yank the old sad tooth out of my jaw – but I really don't want to go out piece by piece.
Somewhere between dentist 1 and 2 my tire lost its will to roll. So sometime during my walk in the rain from dentist 1 to dentist 2 (an advantage to working downtown where there are dentists within walking distance of one another) (note to self: get an umbrella) my hubby did a drive-by with the air compressor and pumped up my tire.
By the time I made it back to my car from dentist 2 with my face tingling and invisible to the touch, and then on to the tire place to see if they could plug what we hope is just a small hole in my tire, it was too late to fix it, what with all the other people waiting there with tire problems of their own.
Anyway there are worst things that can happen in the course of a day so I am trying to put it all in perspective: I've probably gotten through more than at least 23,000 average to above-average days in this lifetime and for that, I am grateful.
