PUBLISHER'S CORNER

Like so many of you, I have loved ones in Florida and Hurricane Milton is giving us all pause. Jim has an Uncle there. I have a cousin and a dear bestie from high school, Bernadette. She is leaving St. Pete for somewhere safer, but she is worried about this one. I asked her over the weekend if she was in Milton's path.

"Directly. I'm sitting here contemplating my life," she said. "I’ve been through a lot of big storms. I have a bad feeling about this one."

Having just seen the devastating of Helene, no one is underestimating what Milton could do.

If your heart is in Florida right now, we will all be holding a collective breath and hoping that by some miracle of meteorology, or nature, that Milton loses steam and the impact is minimal.
