I may not have mentioned why I'm in Levittown - it's that much closer to the Big Apple where I will be later today, joining my son and a Radio City Music Hall full of Fanilows who will be there for Barry Manilow's "farewell" tour. In reading reviews of some of his previous tour stops, Barry is still at the top of his game, even at 81, and he shows no signs of actually saying farewell, as he even added a few dates to this NYC stop.
|
I saw him once before, when he was still a spring chicken in his 40s. My neighbor Bunny got us tickets. She's the one who named her youngest daughter Mandy. At that time I felt I might have been too cool to go see Barry Manilow, however it was an amazing show because, after all, he writes the songs that make the whole world sing (including the Oscar Mayer Weiner jingle).
|
This time I'll be there with my son Neil, who won tickets from a radio show. He's the lucky one of the family - and I get to be the beneficiary of his luck this time around. I'm almost as excited to see the inside of Radio City Music Hall as I am to see what Barry Manilow can do at his age with a sparkly suit and an incredible stage in the heart of the place that gave us this talented music man.

CONCORD, NH – Competing on Thursday night is unusual in varsity high school football. And, indeed, last night's football game between Concord High School and Manchester Memorial High School was an unusual affair. Though Concord won, 21-12, the final result was still in doubt heading into the last few minutes of the contest. The first half was mostly uneventful, with …

This election, plain and simple, is about keeping one of the worst people on the planet out of the Oval Office for a second time. At this point, I can’t fake diplomacy or pretend to be conciliatory with the MAGA movement.

The Republican party’s beliefs are troubling to me on many levels and no longer represent me on some major issues. Believing the Republican party has lost their way, is why I will be crossing over and supporting Maxine Mosley for the House of Representatives in District 39 (Manchester Wards 6, 8 & 9). While the Republicans have spent the last few years focused on culture wars, I believe we need to get back to basic governance.

"Our small town knows how a strong football program can lead the way, change young lives and impact our community," said Manchester Athletics Director Christine Pariseau-Telge. "This is exactly what West football is doing every day, both in and out of season. West football is inspiring our community to be better and do better. We hope the nation votes for West. We are West High!"
