PUBLISHER'S CORNER

Watched a good short series last night on one of the obscure channels on my smart TV – Paramount+, I think. It was called "LOLLA: The Story of Lollapalooza." I found it to be more than educational; it helped me to better understand how culture and music is intertwined through generations.
|
Even though I remember those times when Lollapallooza got its start, and even though I was running a teen section at the local paper and was plugged into the music undergroun thanks to a bunch of mostly misfit teens, it wasn't my scene - in that it didn't belong to me. But it does explain my affection for bands like Foo Fighters, Alice in Chains, Jane's Addiction, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Living Colour.
|
What I gained from watching was the rest of the story. Music is a universal spark plug. Chaos and art, defiance and liberation, music and freedom. We find our voices while singing along to the soundtrack of our lives.

This dog-friendly event brought out dogs of all types and many who are adoptees from the rescue. Runners and walkers came to help support the rescue that brought them together with their fur-ever friend.Â

Mostly sunny and breezy, though not quite record-breaking warmth. The high is 66 degrees.
