PUBLISHER'S CORNER

Do not tell my husband about the guy in England who built an old-school windmill fit for a king that does what windmills do - but also generates electricity like a champ. Jim has spent this summer entrenched in gardening and building things from old wooden pallets. This will likely be irresistable to him.

Gareth Ross Buddell fitted it with a colorful home-made sail that makes it a low-speed electricity machine, one he thinks can power his whole house.

Once he works out the kinks he's going to present his design to King Charles in the hope that his big idea will generate some buzz - along with wind.
