PUBLISHER'S CORNER

The folks pictured above are hoping to disrupt what currently is a difficult housing market. They're part of a start-up called Ownify - yes, one of those catchy one-word business names that reflects what it is - about home ownership - with with an edge.

Basically an angel investor will help you buy your first house.

Called ‘fractional ownership’ the Ownify model allows prospective homebuyers to work with wealthy investors to secure houses they love and pay a rate similar to a mortgage until they have enough to buy the equity stake from the investors, who hold the house in trust until the buyers are ready.

It’s kind of like having an ultra-rich grandparent.

You can poke around their website here. I'm not surprised that someone has come up with something that turns our attention to the ridiculous housing market. Although people in the know say it can't go on like this foever, to those wishing they could buy a modest starter home might be interested in finding a rich fairy godparent.
