Leave it to me to step outside my comfort zone and ask you to follow a bunch of useful links that aren't working. I'm still getting used to this new email host (Mail Poet) so ... if you have the heart to do so, please reread my note today and follow the links, now working!

It's August, a perfect time for some self-promotion, as we're about to shift into the high gear of human productivity also known as fall. Summer ends and it's back to life, mentally speaking.
|
As you know we've just celebrated 10 years of bringing you news and info. We've inserted ourselves into this community to connect the dots - those dots being people with businesses and City Hall and even some fun stuff in between. Our news is free for you to read, and we like it that way. And while we don't often ask for anything in return, like everyone else, we're feeling the pinch of progress.
|
Today, if you would be so kind, please take a look at ways you can help me continue on our news mission.
|
- Get off the fence and become a VIP member today. We are especially grateful for those who select the Angel or Atlas level of support because, at the minimum, your annual membership helps us pay a reporter. One Angel membership = 1 story. One Atlas membership = 2 stories. You can sign up here.
- If you own a business or are friends with someone who owns a business there are two things you can do right now: Add your business to our business directory here, and you also should be advertising your business with us. Reach out today (publisher@inklink.news) and we'll get your ad going on our site by tomorrow. We have lots of options. This is how we make ends meet.
- If you are a very successful business owner, you should become a corporate sponsor of our local news efforts. There are only a few ways we can continue to serve the community and the most important one is when our local business pillars and leaders say "journalism is important to our community and I'm going to stand with the Ink Link as an annual supporter." That goes for those of you who need to disperse some of your wealth income (also see #5 if you're looking for a tax deduction). There are plenty of great causes out there but I can't think of any more important than daily local community news. Who's with me on this? Email me at publisher@inklink.news to get something going.
- If you like to splurge on cool things for yourself or others – you know, those spontaneous friendship gifts, teacher gifts, 'thank you' gifts, or annual birthday presents to friends and family that are thoughtful yet practical? Then look no further than our Ink Link Shop. Need a new phone case? We've got it in a design that honors our beautiful mural stairway at Arms Park. Need a water bottle? Sun hat? Long-sleeved T-shirt for fall? A new journal with a fetching cover? We've got so many order-on-demand options – and your purchase not only makes you happy but it puts a little jingle in our reporter fund as well.
- If you are, like me, a little worried about the future of journalism here in New Hampshire, we're working on it. Our Inkubator program is just finding its legs but hopefully we'll be running full-speed ahead to open doors of opportunity for young people interested in exploring careers that include creating and communicating. Our fiscal sponsor, Local Media Fund, allows us to accept tax-deductible contributions, so if you are so inclined, here's a link.
I don't like laying it out so plainly. But I also want to keep on keeping on – and this is the only way I know; I don't have any deep-pocketed benefactors or corporate sugar daddy. We're a lean machine, but we are working at this 24/7 for you, and that should be enough to earn your love and support.

Thank you in advance. And if you have questions, I'm here for it.

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (9-20, 39-58) prevailed over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (17-13, 52-45) Friday at Mirabito Stadium, 7-3. On top of a rain delay of an hour and 20 minutes, Friday's contest in Binghamton took three hours and 16 minutes, nine minutes shy of the longest game in New Hampshire's franchise history.
