PUBLISHER'S CORNER

I have a little bit of history with Charles Barkley - from my Philly reporting days, I once interviewed his wife to find out what it's like to be married to Sir Charles. So I am a bit bit impartial when it comes to news about Barkley - in this case, I'm not surprised that he made a pro move by turning down a big pile of money so that his TNT "team" could keep their jobs.

If you keep up with NBA sportscasting at all then you know that Charles Barkley is known for being outspoken and honest. I enjoy watching him and it gives me a bit of "hometown" Philly pride to know that in a world where we expect the rich and famous to keep doing what it takes to remain rich and famous, Barkley is a good guy.
