PUBLISHER'S CORNER
If anyone needs me I'll be in Chicago for the remainder of the week.
I'm going for a meeting of the publishing minds, Local Independent Online News Publishers, to be exact. I need to see if I can figure out how to do this better; how to serve this community with more urgency and relevance. I'm going there to see if other indie news publishers like me have figured out how to make it all work - how to create financial stability around what they're doing so that they can hire talented and ambitious reporters equipped to tell the stories of their communities.
I'm looking for solutions.
Whatever I find out I'm going to bring it back with me and share it with you - and I hope that, together, we can figure it out so that your interest in supporting local news grows, and my capacity to deliver it does, too.
