PUBLISHER'S CORNER

It's lucky Thursday - because you get a bonus email. Why?
Because there was a little kerfuffle in the previous email you got this morning - you know, where I mentioned it was National Video Games Day and told you to check out the story about Ralph Baer, Father of Video Games who made his home in Manchester, in the mix below. Only the story didn't make it into this morning's mix due to some mathematical and technical issues - both of which I'm sure Ralph Baer could fix for me if he were still here.
Anyway, this is to make sure that you get to see the story by Jeff Rogers. Here's a link! It's also in the mix below. It's the only story so it will be easy to find!
And while I have you, make sure you check out the Ink Link Shop where we have created some really cool Ralph Baer swag which can make for a cool gift for your favorite gamer (get your holiday shopping done early!) who also has a sense of hometown pride. Here's the link for that.
And while you're in the shop, poke around - we have another cool collection of T-shirts by local artist Jen Drociak, her Love Manchester collection featuring your favorite off-beat landmarks and lore, including Commodore Nutt and a fan favorite, The Cadillac Motel.
And if you still need to do some shopping, check out our latest shop, the Support Journalism Shop which I will be promoting heavily starting Sept. 14, which is International Democracy Day.
A portion of your purchase of any of these fun and exciting items will help us keep cranking out the news. But it will also create some hometown solidarity around the things we all love - Ralph Baer, our quirky landmarks, democracy and the Ink Link!!
Happy reading - and shopping!

Ralph Baer was born in 1922 to Jewish parents living in Germany near the French border. Much of their town had been destroyed in WWI, so when Ralph was 18 months old his family moved to Cologne.
