PUBLISHER'S CORNER

A friend asked me why I was taking weekends off from sending this newsletter. I reassured her that nothing was "wrong," and that I just felt like it was smart to unplug as much as possible.

I'm not a robot.

That didn't explain why there was no newsletter yesterday morning. That's a different sort of dilemma - some days there are fewer posts and, on those days, it seems like you're not getting your money's worth - even in a freebie newsletter.

And it's not to say there isn't work being done, just that sometimes news takes time.

I'm not a robot. If you want robot news, it's out there. I hope you believe human news is worth the wait.

All of that is to day that today you benefit from yesterday's news AND today's news, and if it looks like it's cut short at the end of your email's scroll capacity, that's because it might be overstuffed - in which case you will need to open this email in your browser so you can see all the good stuff.

This is the church at which I worship

This is the church at which I worship

I’ve been to a few services. Last night, though. Last night hit different. Usually I check my pockets before I go, but a tiny miracle must’ve crawled out of one. For some time between a few nanoseconds and a lifetime, my brain quit yammering. It sat down, got real quiet behind my face. And in that stillness, I slipped somewhere. Maybe a trance. Maybe a meditation. Maybe a short walk into a parallel dimension. It was so like nothing it was one of the best somethings I’ve ever had. This church is heaven—even if it has no opinion about anything.
