On August 14 activists from various groups gathered in Arms Park in Manchester to share stories about Eversource’s rate hikes over the last few years.
Right after the dramatic thunderstorm rolled through southern NH on Tuesday night another equally if not more impressive drama began.
In an order issued Tuesday, the state’s Public Utilities Commission rejected Eversource’s request to keep secret how much extra consumers are paying for electricity from a biomass plant in Berlin.
State regulators wanted to know why an agreement outlining procedures to resolve mitigation issues for the Northern Pass Transmission project’s effect on historic and archeological sites had not been made available until Thursday.
Power was expected to be restored by 2 p.m., according to an Eversource spokesperson.
The power purchase agreement, which was filed Tuesday with the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission, is a 20-year contract that supports New Hampshire’s Ten Year Energy Strategy and its Climate Action Plan, as well as other regional carbon reduction goals.
The company’s re-branding initiative will officially take place on February 2. Customers will receive more information regarding the brand change after the launch.
