Making sure families have enough nutritious food is a year-round mission for the NH Food Bank. But especially this time of year, a time when food is the focus of family celebrations, the Food Bank relies on partners to help make connections and serve those who otherwise might be overlooked.

On a Friday morning in late March, the New Hampshire Food Bank’s industrial kitchen was alive with the whirring of mixers, volunteers chopping vegetables, and staff stopping by to chat and tell Chef Paul Morrison that yesterday’s green goddess dressing was “so fresh” and how delicious his pot du creme tasted.
Bank of America has made a $50,000 donation worth 100,000 meals to the New Hampshire Food Bank to address food insecurity in the state. In New Hampshire, Feeding America estimates one in nine people are facing food insecurity, including 12 percent of New Hampshire children. As the pandemic continues, hunger relief organizations in New Hampshire and across the country are facing ongoing challenges such as increased demand for their services and rising food prices.

Throughout April and May, participating grocery stores are selling “cans of nothing” for $5 each. Once filled with coins and cash, and returned to the NH Food Bank, they help feed those in need here.
E. & J. Gallo Winery donated 50 cents per bottle sold at all 79 NH Liquor & Wine Outlets during November and December 2016.
A majority of the donation will be used to help sustain the Food Bank’s 430 partner organizations.
Mel Gosselin brings 25 years of dynamic leadership in the for-profit and non-profit worlds, including 13 years as Executive Director of the New Hampshire Food Bank, which, under Gosselin’s tenure, grew to become the state’s largest non-profit food distribution center.
