Unlike some other New Hampshire cities and towns, a Manchester selectman is not a policy maker akin to our Board of Aldermen. They are the people who ensure that voting laws and policies are followed to enable every voter the opportunity to feel their votes are securely cast and that they are counted.
Can we claim to love the beautiful mountains and lakes of NH if we vote for politicians who won’t protect them?
In Hillsborough 20, a district where a mere handful of votes could be the difference between electing a progressive candidate or not, it’s crucial we all turn out to vote. Because of this, I wanted to take a minute to talk about two politicians who need our support.

The primary is less than a month away and a woman whom I admire and who has done so much for our country is in the race for our nation’s top office. Secretary Clinton is a person I have known for years and have admired for her commitment to public service.
Alderman Hirschmann’s opposition to the contract, like his failed tax cap-compliant budget, is based on false economies generated by ideology, not reality. Ward 12 voters should send him back to school to pursue a degree in economics or, failing that, a refresher course in basic math. Voting my friend Keith off the Board will give him the time needed to seek that remedial education.
