On the surface, Ann Agee and Nicolas Party might seem like they have little in common, besides both being contemporary artists. They work at different scales, with different materials, to tell different stories.
“Looking Together is not so much about getting a rundown of the artistic history of a piece,” Sanchez said. “Looking Together is really what the name says. It’s very much related to inviting guests to take time to spend 15 minutes with one work of art.”

The Currier Museum Side Door Series, which has launched very strong since the series began last year, selling out, I think, every show, is a great place to mix it up for a night and hear good music. The venue is intimate with great acoustics. Couple hundred seats and drinks, if needed, at the ready. A perfect fit for the Queen City.
Killer Heels exhibitions, Moulin Rouge shows, and now, come Friday night, a couple really fantastic national performers named Will Porter and Carmen Nickerson will take to the stage of the 185 seat music hall inside the museum.
“There’s no passivity when you look at a Picasso,” agreed Susan Strickler, who is the soon-to-retire director of the Currier. “You may not always love it, but it provokes a reaction. That’s what Picasso did.”
