MANCHESTER NH – Manchester Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that happened around 11 a.m. on Oct. 1 at the 99¢ & Cigarette Market, 352 Kelley Street.
The robber is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5-foot-10, between 30-35 years of age, light facial hair and last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black gloves, black bandana covering his face.
According to police, the robber entered the store and asked for cash. He spoke with an accent and was armed with a small, black handgun during the course of the attempted robbery.
The clerk thwarted the robbery and allegedly chased the assailant out of the store. An unidentified witness last observed the suspect running toward a nearby address, which officers are currently checking. There is no surveillance video at this particular store, so no photos are available.
