Manchester Police responded to two separate incidents on Saturday in which a child on a bike and a pedestrian on Elm Street were struck by vehicles.
No serious injuries resulted.
On Oct. 4 at about 4:40 p.m. officers responded to the area of 209 Wilson St. after a call involving a car striking a child on a bike.
The investigation by officers determined that a boy, 7, traveled onto the roadway from the sidewalk on a bicycle with no brakes and struck a vehicle traveling north on Wilson Street. The boy, who was not wearing a bike helmet, was thrown from the bicycle. The child did not appear to suffer any serious injuries, police said. He was taken to Elliot Hospital for observation. Police determined the operator of the vehicle was not at fault.
Three hours later officers responded to the Elm and Spring Streets after an accident was reported at about 7:40 p.m. involving a pedestrian struck by a car.
Police determined that Francisco Jasso, 19, ran across Elm Street during heavy rain conditions outside of any crosswalk, and was struck by a Dodge Neon traveling south on Elm Street. Jasso suffered a minor head injury and was transported to Elliot Hospital for medical treatment. Police determined the driver of the vehicle was not at fault.
