
MANCHESTER, NH โ A man wanted in connection with a burglary was nabbed by police as he sat in the cafe at Market Basket, shortly after ย the alleged burglary took place across the street, on West Auburn Street.
Michael Wing, 53, no fixed address, was charged with burglary.
According to a police narrative, aย property manager for Gamache Propertiesย contacted police to report a man hadย entered a property at 21 West Auburn St.ย through a secured door before walkingย into the storage area.
The property manager told police heย scared the intruder offย when he confronted him in the basement of the building. He saidย that the alleged burglarย ran across the street in the direction of Market Basket.
Officer McDonald arrived on scene and located Wingย seated in the Market Basket cafe based on a description of the burglar provided to police.
He determined Wing was the manย responsible for breaking into the building and placed him into custody. Wing ย was scheduled toย appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on March 26. He was also placed on a 72-hour hold for a probation/parole violation.
