MANCHESTER, NHย โ Public comment is the point of the April 14 special Board of Aldermen meeting,ย where residents will have a chance to express themselves onย the city’sย proposed 2016 budget.
The public hearingย begins at 6:3o p.m. at City Hall, in the third-floor Aldermanic Chambers. All those who wish to speak will be able to sign up and then have three minutes to comment. Once everyone who wishes to speak has had a turn, a person can return to the microphone for additional comment.
Although it may feel like you’re speaking in an echo chamber, since there is traditionally no back-and-forth, all comments will be on the record, and the city says they will be consideredย by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen prior to passing of the budget.
In accordance with the tax cap, Mayor Gatsasโ budget proposal includes a 1.33 percent tax increase, which represents approximately $2.6 million in additional spending over the previous fiscal year.
