MANCHESTER, NH โ€“ The victim of an accidental drowning incidentย Sunday has been identified by police as Heritier Bosa, 26, of Amherst St.,ย Manchester.

According to police, Bosa was swimming in the Piscataquog River at a popular swimming area off Electric Street with his pregnant wife,ย Lacresha Bonds, 23, of Manchester and their 3-year-oldย daughter. At some pointย Bosa entered an area of the water with a steep drop off and went under, according toย Felicia LeBrun, 20, of Manchester, who witnessed the incident.

LeBrun told police she hadย given the family a ride to the beach. She told the officers that Bosa was not a strong swimmer, but that she felt he was โ€œdoing fineโ€ while swimming in the water. She noticed him struggling at 4:15 p.m., but thought he was โ€œfooling around,โ€ so she waited a few minutes before checking the water again. He did not resurface.

After several minutes she contacted emergency services because she felt something was amiss. Manchester Fire Department and New Hampshire Marine Patrolย arrived on scene ย and searched the water. Bosa’sย body was located approximately an hour afterย rescuers arrived to the beach.

Bonds and her daughter were transported from the beachย by ambulance to the hospital for observation before her husband’sย body was recovered, due to the fact that she isย eight months pregnant and was extremely distraught. Both she and their youngย daughter were released a short time later, police said.
