MANCHESTER, NH โ Mark your social calendars for July 23, which can also double as your free coffee calendar, as Manchester Police Department’s Coffee with a Cop community conversation series continues Thursday at Cafe la Reine, 915 Elm St., from 9-11 a.m.
Along with his Community Policing team, newly appointed Chief Nick Willard will be in attendance,ย to shake your hand, field your questions or hear your concerns.

The Coffee with a Cop initiativeย began last summer here in Manchester, bringing together members of the city’s policeย department with residents by circulating the free coffee events at various eateries around the city.
MPD’s ย Coffee with a Copย program isย modeled after a national initiative supported by the U.S. Department of Justice and Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.
According to the official Coffee with a Cop website, the aim isย to counter the fact that law enforcement primarily comes into contact with the public during times of emergency, public crisis or emotionally charged situations.
Coffee with a Cop โbreaks down barriers and allows for a relaxed, one-on-one interaction,โ in hopes of improving relationships between police officers and community members, โone cup of coffee at a time.โ
