Wihby for hire: He resigned his school board seat after arrest, now he’s applying for city job

MANCHESTER, NHย โ€” Three months after resigning his school board seat following an arrest in Nashua for allegedly soliciting a prostitute, David Wihby is seeking a return to the city payroll, the Union Leader reports.

Wihby told the Union Leader he has applied for the job of employee relations manager/chief negotiator position, which ranges in salary from $73,369.17 โ€“ $104,606.89. He also said he has been told the job is often hard to fill.

According to the job posting on the city website, the chief negotiator โ€œrepresents the city in the negotiation of all collective bargaining agreements; oversees the employee relations function within the city, including administering and negotiating collective bargaining agreements, coordinating employee grievance procedures including pre-arbitration hearings and other directly related work as required.โ€

Wihby told the Union Leader he feels qualified for the job but, if hired, he could not begin work until January of 2016 due to his April resignation from the school board.

Following his April 3 arrest, Wihby also resigned his position asย director of Sen. Kelly Ayotteโ€™s New Hampshire offices.
