MANCHESTER, NH –A 16-year-old who has spent more time than he should have had to fighting leukemia got some much-needed relief when the Make-A-Wish Foundation stepped in to treat him to some of life’s simplest pleasures.
Isaac
On Sunday, August 9, 2015 a young leukemia victim named Isaac, received his wish for a “man cave” to share with his family and friends. During the planning of this surprise gift wish, made possible by the team of Make-A-Wish Foundation, New Hampshire, they discovered that the 16 year old Isaac was a super fan of Cactus Jack’s Southwest Grill located just down the street from his home.
The festivities were held at Isaac’s home in Manchester, NH by Wish Granters Mike Gibeault and Kaitlyn Schmidt and the wish was sponsored by Day’s Jewelers. A group of 20 were treated to Cactus Jack’s goodies and Isaac’s favorite, Fried Pickles just before the big reveal.
Isaac’s new “man cave” included a complete renovation of the homes basement, with big screen TV, theatre seating, signed sports memorabilia, and refreshment center. Cactus Jack’s manager Joshua Bruno presented Isaac with a Cactus Jack’s painting as part of the décor, painted by Dana Boucher, wife of Great NH Restaurants CEO Tom Boucher.
Joshua also presented Isaac with a Cactus Jack’s gift card that will be reloaded every month for one year, “Isaac is a kid that doesn’t like to be the center of attention and doesn’t want to be treated any differently because of what he’s gone through. He has remained humble through this whole process and just looks forward to getting back to some normalcy in his life. We jumped at the opportunity to help out a neighbor and the son of a long time regular guest. Knowing that he is so appreciative and will enjoy everything makes this very special to us at CJ’s. We look forward to seeing him on a monthly basis for him to use his CJ’s money!”
