MANCHESTER, NH – Micky Garst, 24, of Manchester was arrested Aug. 19, charged with possession of a stolen firearm found his his car, which had been reported stolen a few days earlier.
The arrest followed a police call on Aug. 19 when several officers responded to the area of Amory and Dubuque streets for a reported fight involving 15 people. As Officers Casey Finn and Alexander Martens arrived, those involved in the fight began running from the scene, down the alleyway west on Cartier Street, toward Kelley Street.
Officers Finn and Martens stopped a vehicle at the scene and questioned the female driver and her male passenger. Through their investigation, a consent to search the vehicle was conducted, police said, and the officers located a loaded Colt 1911 .45 ACP firearm with 6 rounds of loaded ammunition and a shoulder holster inside the vehicle. The firearm had an altered serial number, but police determined the firearm was reported stolen from a residential burglary in Manchester on August 15.
Further investigation led to Garst’s arrest.
He was charged with receiving stolen property; convicted felon in possession of a firearm; changing marks on a pistol or revolver; and probation/parole hold. Garst was scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on August 20.
