MANCHESTER, NH โ€“ A look at the current weather map makes it easier to get over our lack of the white stuff on Christmas. How about a white Monday night into Tuesday?

That’s the word from the National Weather Service, which is forecasting our first measurable snow of the season for Dec. 28/29.

“After Sunday we’ll see significantly colder air moving into the area with highs on Monday in the mid-30s,” says Andy Pohl, meteorologist for the National Weather Service out of Gray, Maine.

That cold air will be the prelude to a weather system on its way Monday night, says Pohl.

“It’ll probably start off as snow on Monday night and then change over to rain Tuesday morning, but we could get at least a measurable snow before it switches to rain,” Pohl says.

After that, it’s too far out to be certain, but we’re probably looking at a mostly sunny New Year’s Day, with temperatures creeping back up toward the 40s.
