Driver on cell phone also charged for giving false name, bail violations

MANCHESTER, NH โ€” Police arrested a city man driving on a suspended license after he was allegedly spotted talking on his cell phone while operating his car on Queen City Avenue.

According to a police reportย of the incident, on January 15ย at about 12:05 a.m.ย Officer Matthew Oโ€™Connor observed Ahmed Mohamed, 21, of Manchester, talking on his cell phone while driving east on Queen City Avenue. Officer Oโ€™Connor stopped the 1996 Toyota Corolla in the area of Union and Shasta streets and spoke with the driver.ย 

Mohamed initiallyย provided a false name to Officer O’Connor, who ultimately identified the driver asย Mohamed, andย confirmed he wasย operating the vehicle with a suspended license.ย ย 

Mohamed was arrested and charged with disobeying a policeย officer; driving after suspension or revocation; and violation of bail conditions. He was issued a motor vehicle summons for use of an electronic device while driving.

Mohamed was scheduled to appearย in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on January 15, 2015.
