

MANCHESTER, NH โ Ian MacPherson, 32,ย of 73 Dionne Drive #3, Manchester, wasย arrested on two counts of attempted capital murder Friday for the alleged shooting of two Manchester Police officers.
At approximately 2:03 a.m. on May 13, Officer Ryan Hardy saw a male walking on Second Street near Ferry Street. Officer Hardy approached the subject, as he fit the description of a male who robbed the Shell Gas Station at 245 Eddy Road on May 12, 2016. That description being a male with long hair, wearing a trench coat. Shortly after radioing dispatch about the stop, Officer Hardy radioed that he had been shot. He also relayed that the white male with long hair and a trench coat was headed south on Second Street. Officer Hardy suffered gunshot wounds to the face and torso. He is in stable condition at a Boston hospital.
At approximately 2:33 a.m., Officer Matthew OโConnor and members of the NH State Police saw a male matching the same description on Rimmon Street near Putnam Street. Officer OโConnor requested that the male place his hands up. The male then began to fire at Officer OโConnor, striking him in the leg. The police returned fire. The male fled into the wooded area of Putnam Street by Rimmon Street. Officer OโConnor was treated at a local hospital and was released.
At approximately 5 a.m., police saw a male with long hair and beard come from the area of 465-473 Bartlett Street. The male was arrested for resisting detention. This male was identified as MacPherson.
It is anticipated that MacPhersonโs arraignment will be scheduled for Monday in the 9th Circuit, District Court, Manchester Division.
