MANCHESTER โ€“ The Manchester Monarchs went from winning five straight to what is now a three-game losing streak following their 6-3 loss to Wheeling on Wednesday night.

Throughout the first two periods, Manchester struggled to keep up with Wheelingโ€™s scoring barrage, tying up the game three times through the contestโ€™s first 35 minutes.

But the Monarchs would be unable to respond to Marcus Basaraโ€™s blast 17:34 into the second period, with Ross McMullan and Cody Wydo adding insurance goals in the third period.

Basara also added an assist for the Nailers while Manchester got multi-point performances from Kevin Morris, Keegan Iverson and Francois Beauchemin.

The Monarchs are back in action Friday, March 3 (7 p.m.), at SNHU Arena, to take on the Adirondack Thunder.
