The winner of Miss America 2019 scholarship pageant was Miss New York,ย Nia Imani Franklin, a musician and composer, who will use her platform to advocate for the arts.

Moorhouse, a 2018 Memorial High School grad is now enrolled at Southern NH University. She was recognized durnig the pageant as a STEM finalist.
For the talent competition she danced a jazz routine to Aretha Franklin’s “Respect,” and wore an emerald-green evening gown as she took her turn on the stage during the formal wear competition.

Of choosing to dress as a pilot in the shoe parade, Moorhouse wrote on her official Facebook page:
“As soon as the Miss New Hampshire crown was put on my head, I knew that I wanted to dress as a pilot in the Miss America Show Me Your Shoes Parade! Only 6 percent of aviators are female, and that needs to change!
