Monarchs end home stand with Reading loss

MANCHESTER, NH – ย On Saturday night, the Manchester Monarchs dropped their second game in as many days, falling 4-2 to the visiting Reading Royals.

Reading opened the contest with three unanswered goals, including a goal from Jack Riley just 2:59 into the contest. Manchesterโ€™s first goal came at 13:22 in the second period, connecting on a pass from Spencer Watson that went over the glove of Reading goaltender and former Monarch Brandon Komm.

Steven Swavely provided Readingโ€™s fourth goal just moments before the second intermission and Zeb Knutson provided the gameโ€™s final goal in the waning moments of the third period.

The Monarchs, now 4-4-1-1 on the season, conclude this current homestand with three points in three games.

They now head to Newfoundland for a contest against the Growlers on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
