READING, Penn. โ€“ Two late goals provided two key points on Wednesday night as the Manchester Monarchs continued their push toward the playoffs with a 3-1 road victory over the Reading Royals.

Both squads got a goal in the first period, beginning with Josh MacDonaldโ€™s rebound under the arm of Manchester netminder Cole Kehler.

The visitors responded with a goal from Drake Rymsha 18:25 into the period and finally broke the deadlock with Tony Cameranesiโ€™s 10th goal of the season 6:55 into the third.

Jack Nevins added the insurance score just over two minutes later on the Monarchsโ€™ third power play of the night.

The Monarchs climbed to 40 points on the year with the win, one point behind the idle Maine Mariners for the final playoff spot in the North Division.

Manchester now has three straight games against Maine, beginning on Friday at 7:15 p.m. in Portland.
