Men’s Soccer
The Hawks couldn’t hold on to a scoreless draw at the half, falling 2-0 to American International on Saturday.
Senior Jacob Rostkowski (Rockport, Mass.) had seven saves in the loss.
Saint Anselm (5-3-0, 1-3-0 NE-10) had not been shutout yet this season.
After their contest against was suspended on Tuesday, the Hawks have rescheduled their matchup with Saint Michael’s College on Monday, Oct. 7 at 3 p.m. in Vermont.
Women’s Soccer
A late goal from senior Caly Farina (Southbury, Conn.) wasn’t enough as the Hawks fell 2-1 to Assumption on Saturday.
Junior goalkeeper Payton Wildrick (Dartmouth, Mass.) stopped six shots, extending her career saves number to 160. She is now six stops away from tying Kathryn Mullin ’05 at 166.
Saint Anselm finished the day with a slim 13-12 shots advantage. The Hawks also had a 7-2 advantage on corner kicks.
The Hawks (4-2-4, 1-2-3 NE-10) will stay on the road as they head to Franklin Pierce on Tuesday, Oct. 8 under the lights for a 7 p.m. matchup.
Women’s Ice Hockey
Saint Anselm completed their weekend sweep of Post, taking a 5-1 win on Saturday.
In addition to a power play goal from junior Jayden Young (Norwood, N.Y.), the Hawks got even strength goals from sophomore Kelly Golini (Tewksbury, Mass.), senior Megan Klaus (State College, Penn.), sophomore Erin Meyers (Saint Paul, Minn.) and senior Katy Meehan (Quincy, Mass.)
Saint Anselm (2-0-0, 2-0-0 NEWHA) has two weeks to prepare for their home opener on Friday, Oct. 18 as they host Sacred Heart at 7 p.m.
