Thanks to four unanswered goals and 50 saves from senior Kurt Gutting (Weymouth, Mass.), the Penmen rallied to a 4-3 victory over Saint Anselm on Friday.

Three of those four goals came outside five-on-five play, with senior D.J Goldstein (Wareham, Mass.) grabbing a shorthanded goal following power play goals from freshman James Nash (Hampton, N.H.) and freshman George Thurston (Plymouth, Mass.)

Junior Kyle Galloway (Sugar Hill, Ga.) had SNHU’s other goal.

The Penmen (6-1-0, 4-0-0 Northeast-10) conclude their six-game road stretch when they play at Colby College on Tuesday night.

It came down to a penalty shootout, but SNHU has been eliminated from the NCAA Division II Tournament, falling 4-2 in that shootout to Mercy.

Both teams converted their first two penalty shootout shots, but freshmen Allyson Patterson (Seekonk, Mass.) and Maddie Austin (Sunapee, N.H.) missed their chances in the third and fourth rounds, respectively.

SNHU fell in the NCAA Tournament on penalty kicks last year, losing there 4-3 to Long Island University-LIU Post.
