Nov. 11: Veterans Day Parade and street closures announced

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The City of Manchester is advising motorists and residents of street closures on Saturday, Nov. 11 for the Veterans’ Day Parade. The parade is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. on Elm Street, ending with a ceremony at Veterans Park.

This year’s Grand Marshal is Jim Adams Chairman of the State Veterans’ Council and a Vietnam Veteran.

This year participants will include Senator Maggie Hassan, Mayor Joyce Craig, the Board of Aldermen, Miss Manchester, the three high school bands, West High NJROTC, Fall Mountain AJROTC, American Legion posts, VFW post, DAV post, Vietnam Veteran, Marine Corps League, Knights Templar, Corvette Club of southern NH, British Cars of NH, Antique military vehicles, assorted antique cars, motorcycles, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and other organizations.

Road closures:

Webster Street from Chestnut Street to River Road as well as Elm Street from Webster Street to Central Street will be closed from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

All streets accessing Elm Street from both the east and west will be detoured away from Elm Street for the duration of the parade.

The Granite Street Bridge and Queen City Bridge will be open for the duration of the parade. The Parade will have detour signs as well as police officers along the course to assist motorists.

The MTA Bus stops at Veterans Park will be temporarily relocated to Lake Avenue along the north side of the SNHU Arena, for the duration of the parade.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
