MANCHESTER, NH – Police on Tuesday issued an update in an investigation launched July 25 at a Holly Avenue residence.

“Manchester Police have been actively investigating the recent incident on Holly Avenue and  have spoken with all individuals involved. Based on the information gathered, we are confident  there is no threat to public safety,” read a news release.

While early media reports suggested the possibility of a random assault on July 25, the ongoing police investigation has not uncovered any information indicating that an assault occurred.

Police Chief Peter Marr during a July 28 follow-up news conference, also did not confirm earlier reports of an assault.

In Tuesday’s news release, police said out of respect for the privacy of those involved, no further information would be released.

“We appreciate the continued support and patience of both the community and the media.  Manchester Police remain committed to conducting thorough, fact-driven investigations and ensuring the safety and trust of the public in every situation we handle.”
