Speakers & Panelists
1. Arnold Mikolo โ Environmental Justice Advocate, Conservation Law Foundation
Arnold Mikoloโs work is rooted in environmental justice, immigrant advocacy, and community empowerment. As the Environmental Justice Community Advocate for New Hampshire and President of the Manchester NAACP, he actively addresses environmental disparities affecting marginalized populations. His personal journey, from fleeing political instability in the Democratic Republic of Congo to becoming a civic leader in New Hampshire, offers a compelling narrative of resilience and activism. His expertise in equitable city planning, housing justice, and linguistic accessibility will provide valuable perspectives on how environmental policy and social justice intersect.
2. Colette Ramazani
Colette B. Ramazani, an inspiring speaker due to her deep, personal connection to nature and her passion for environmental advocacy. Born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Colette grew up surrounded by the natural beauty of the region, which has greatly influenced her work and dedication to climate action. Her love for nature, coupled with her concerns about the impact of climate change, led her to write Lily and the Gift: Planet Earth, aiming to inspire others to take better care of the environment. As a speaker, her unique perspective, rooted in both her childhood experiences and her work advocating for women and childrenโs rights, offers a powerful message about the importance of environmental stewardship and the urgent need to protect our planet for future generations.ย
3. Taja Sims-Harper
Taja Sims-Harper brings a fresh and essential perspective to the conversation on environmental issues. As a doctoral candidate researching microplastics in marine life in New Hampshireโs Great Bay, her work connects environmental science with public health and daily life in a way that is both accessible and impactful. Her research is not only timely but also deeply relevant to communities often left out of environmental discussions. Tajaโs ability to communicate complex science through real-world experiences makes her an engaging and relatable voice. She represents the kind of leadership and insight that can inspire others to see themselves in spaces where they may not have always felt represented. We believe her presence at Nature Palette would offer attendees a chance to learn, reflect, and see the environment from a broader, more inclusive lens.
