Weather Alerts

A dry weather pattern is setting in across much of New England. Dry, cool air will move into much of New England after recent rain, benefiting outdoor activities and harvests. However, it will also raise wildfire risks, strain lawns, and bring patchy frost to the northern areas.

From August 1 to September 7, much of the northeastern United States has experienced rainfall well below the historical average.

The recent downpours from the series of cool fronts have provided some short-term relief, but with dryness returning this week, watering efforts for new lawns and golf courses will ramp up. Many parts of the region are still facing abnormally dry to severe drought conditions.
