MANCHESTER, NH – Last weekend the historic Manning House, as part of Brookside Church’s holiday events calendar, welcomed about 200 visitors for an exclusive history-centric celebration of Mary Manning, one of the city’s greatest philanthropists.
Portrayed by Kristy Ellsworth of the Manchester Historic Association, “Mary Manning” welcomed visitors to her home.
Visitors were transported back to 1925 as they entered through the large wooden doors of the Manning House to experience Christmas as it was a century ago, when Calvin Coolidge was president, The Jazz Age and the Art Deco movement were in full swing and the Great Gatsby was just published.
