Get ready for a brisk winter day! With the sun shining and Punxsutawney Phil spotting his shadow, expect six more weeks of winter. Temperatures will top out at 31 degrees but feel closer to 19 thanks to the blustery winds. Northwest gusts of 10-15+ mph, so throw on a warm hat and enjoy the crisp, invigorating air as you head out. Check out the official Groundhog Day website here.

Even if Phil declares an early spring, a frigid February is likely for the eastern half of the nation. The polar vortex could unleash another surge of bitterly cold air across the central and eastern United States around the middle of February. This will be accompanied by chances for snow. Meanwhile, warmth will be widespread across the western half of the country throughout most of the month.
