MANCHESTER, NH – John Coughlin, the Hillsborough County Attorney, announces that Daniel O’Dell, 55, of Manchester, was convicted last week of a pattern of Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assaults on a child and two counts of Conspiracy to Commit the Pattern of Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assaults.
The convictions followed a two-day trial that concluded Friday, February 6, 2025, at which the jury found O’Dell guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. The case was prosecuted by Assistant County Attorneys Laura Del Camp and Meaghan Distler.
O’Dell committed the sexual assaults in 1999. The evidence at trial established that O’Dell was 29 years old when he enlisted the help of a 16-year-old girl to sexually abuse the 9-year-old victim by manipulating the victim to play games such as truth or dare. O’Dell and the 16-year-old girl sexually abused the 9-year-old by having her mimic certain sexual acts that the 16-year-old would perform on O’Dell.
Lead investigator Adrianne Davenport of the Manchester Police Department made significant efforts to help lead the case to a successful prosecution. Victim Witness Advocate Katrina Griffin and Paralegal Brittney Weiner provided additional support and assistance to the attorneys throughout the prosecution of this case.
The County Attorney’s Office commends the victim for her courage to report these crimes to police, her steadfast willingness to engage with the criminal justice process, and her resilience in testifying. Sentencing for Daniel O’Dell is presently scheduled for March 12, 2026, at 2:30 p.m.
