‘Suspicious death’ investigation underway after a man dies from gunshot wound

CONCORD, NH โ€“ Law enforcement officials, including Manchester Police and the NH Attorney General’s office, are investigating the suspicious death of an adult male in Manchester, after a report of a shooting brought police out in force to an Elm Street address.

At approximately 3:42 p.m., on February 16, 2026, Manchester police officers were directed to an apartment in the 1000 block of Elm Street in Manchester in response to a 911 call reporting an injured male.  Upon arrival, officers found an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The injured male was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation is in its early stages and the circumstances surrounding the incident are under active investigation. Anyone who may have information about the incident is asked to call the Detective Squad of the Manchester Police Department at (603) 668-8711.

At this time investigators believe that all known parties have been identified and that there is no threat to the public.

Additional information will be released as it becomes available pending the notification of next of kin and the results of an autopsy scheduled for tomorrow by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
