
Former Mass. Gov., fast food pioneer, State Medical Examiner among inductees.
MANCHESTER, NH – Dedicated community servants, notable business people, stand-out athletes, a family of four accomplished brothers, and the founder of the world’s largest fast food chain will be among 16 Central High School graduates inducted into the Manchester High School Central Hall of Fame May 8 at a banquet to be held at the Puritan/Backroom restaurant.
“The inductees represent a wealth of talent and accomplishment and embody Central’s historic ability to produce productive citizens who take the skills they learn at Central and put them to great use at a local, state, and even international level,” Dr. Michael Murphy, chair of the Central Hall of Fame committee, said.
The inductees are:
- Dan Arvanitis, a New Hampshire golfing legend
- Christiana Bakolas, a basketball phenom at Central and Bentley College
- Tara Murphy Beardsley, an athlete and educator
- Robert Champagne, longtime director of youth programming at the Salvation Army
- Jane Truncellito Clayton, a veteran Central teacher and administrator.
- Walter, Lewis, Channing, and Guy Cox, whose accomplishments in the fields of law, government, business, and athletics include the governorship of Massachusetts and the presidency of the John Hancock Insurance Company
- Jennie Duval, New Hampshire’s chief medical examiner
- Burton Kaliski, an accomplished businessman and scientist
- Maurice McDonald, founder of McDonald’s restaurants
- Mark Ouellette, international business executive.
- Arthur Pappas, owner of the Puritan/Backroom restaurant
- Peter Spiro, businessman
- James Tenn, attorney
Tickets to the event are $75 per person, and tables may be purchased for large groups. Tables of 10 may be purchased for $600.

The May 8 event will also include special recognition of Selma Naccach-Hoff, a former Central English teacher whose “45-year teaching career established a record of excellence that is unsurpassed in school history,” according to Murphy.
The Central Hall of Fame was founded in 1996 by Dr. Chris Kehas to recognize the 150th anniversary of Central’s founding. Every five years since 1996, Central graduates are inducted into the hall of fame.
Previous inductees include Olympic coach Bob Beattie; John Sullivan, former secretary of the Navy; Rep. Chris Pappas; comedian Adam Sandler, and Bob Montana, creator of the Archie comic book series.
