MANCHESTER, NH — The Manchester Association of Police Supervisors (MAPS) have announced the launch of a communications platform, establishing new channels to share information about policing in Manchester and engage with residents, community organizations, and local leaders on issues affecting public safety.
The official website and social media platforms on Instagram, X and Facebook are designed to provide accurate information about the realities of policing in Manchester, highlight the work of the department’s supervisors and officers, and contribute to informed public discussions about public safety in New Hampshire’s largest city.
Manchester police officers serve the busiest police department in the state and respond to nearly 100,000 calls for service each year while supporting a city of more than 115,000 residents. These operational demands place significant responsibility on officers and supervisors who manage a wide range of complex incidents while maintaining strong community partnerships.
Through its website and social media presence, MAPS will share information about policing workload, staffing challenges, recruitment and retention trends, and other issues that impact the long-term sustainability of public safety services in Manchester.
The platforms will also highlight the professionalism and leadership of police supervisors who play a critical role in overseeing daily operations, supporting officers in the field, and ensuring the department maintains high standards of service to the community.
“Manchester police supervisors and officers serve one of the most demanding policing environments in New Hampshire,” said Rob Megowen, President of the Manchester Association of Police Supervisors. “These new communication platforms give us the opportunity to share accurate information about the work being done every day in our city and the operational challenges that departments across the country are facing.”
MAPS leaders say the initiative is intended to strengthen transparency and improve public understanding of the factors that shape modern policing, including the importance of maintaining a strong and sustainable police workforce.
