Mount Laurel, NJ – TD Charitable Foundation, the giving arm of TD Bank U.S., announced $10 million in grants awarded to 40 nonprofits through the 20th annual Housing for Everyone grant program, including a $250,000 for New Hampshire-based Waypoint.
Many renters face challenges like rising living costs, sudden income loss, and difficulty navigating lease terms, which can increase the risk of eviction, especially in low- to moderate-income communities. This yearโs grant recipients were selected for their proactive eviction prevention strategies, which help maintain housing continuity, reduce financial stress, and contribute to the long-term stability of our neighborhoods.
Founded in 1850, Waypoint has been one of New Hampshireโs leaders in child welfare and has since grown to support and empower Granite Staters of all ages, including housing support initiatives that made up the heart of the TD Bank grant.
โRising living costs and economic pressures continue to threaten housing stability for our most vulnerable neighborsโincluding youth, families, and seniors,โ said Paige Carlson-Heim, Head of Social Impact at TD and Director of TD Charitable Foundation. โWaypoint empowers renters with the resources, guidance, and support needed to remain housed and weather financial challenges before they escalate. They are making a real difference in the lives of those at greatest risk of displacement in New Hampshire. We’re proud to support their work, which directly advances our commitment to long-term housing solutions for low- to moderate-income renters.”
“We are incredibly grateful to the TD Charitable Foundation for recognizing the importance of this work. This investment allows us to strengthen coordinated case management and eviction prevention efforts across our programs, allowing us to intervene early creating stability plans and providing connection to critical community resources and flexible supports. By addressing challenges before they escalate, weโre able to help keep youth, families, and seniors safely housed and support wellโbeing. Prevention is often overlooked, but itโs one of the most effective ways to support long-term stability, and weโre proud to have TD as a partner in this effort.”
This yearโs program not only marks two decades of partnership with nonprofit organizations on the front lines of housing affordability but also reflects TD’s longstanding commitment to strengthening communities through stable, affordable housing solutions. What began as a small initiative has grown into one of TDโs largest philanthropic commitments, with more than $73 million awarded to over 675 affordable housing initiatives across the communities TD serves.
