
HOOKSETT, NH – On Thursday May 28, 2026, the Hooksett Police Department received a report of an armed man with a large knife in the parking lot of the Places You’ll Grow daycare on Londonderry Turnpike.
Officers arrived and were told he was last seen going across the street. Hooksett police K9 Ares conducted a track which led to 164 Londonderry Turnpike. Initially no one would come to the door, but eventually a male came out and was detained by officers. He was identified as Christopher Benoit, 39, of Hooksett.

It was confirmed that he was a tenant of the address at 164. Benoit admitted to being on the daycare property with the knife but was unable to give a logical reason why.
The knife was located inside the residence and was a 7-inch blade with a homemade handle.
Benoit was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Loitering and Prowling, Resisting Arrest and Felon in Possession of a Deadly Weapon. He was released on $1,000 cash bail, and his arraignment was scheduled for July 9th at the 6th Circuit Court, Hooksett.
The children at the daycare were quickly escorted inside by employees and all accounted for with no injuries.
