Londonderry police officer seriously injured in motorcycle accident

LONDONDERRY, NH โ€“ย A Londonderry police officer was seriously injured Thursday evening while responding to a call.

The officer was operating a motorcycle and heading to a rollover accident with injuries at Stonhenge Road and Hardy Road Thursday evening at about 6 p.m. when the motorcycle collided with an SUV at the intersection of Pheasant Run Road and Hardy Road. The driver of the SUV and an apparent witness remained at the scene and were speaking to investigators.

Londonderry Fire and mutual aid responded to both incidents, and initially requested Boston MedFlight for the officer.

Command communicated to cancel Boston MedFlight and the injured people from both accidents were transported to the Elliott Hospital.

A trauma alert was requested by Londonderry Fire for the officer reportedly with a head injury and lower extremity injuries.

Londonderry Police offered the following statement:

“Our officer was transported by ambulance to Elliot Hospital in Manchester. At this time, he is in stable condition. The operator of the other vehicle involved remained at the scene and isย cooperating with the investigation.”

Hardy Road remained closed in the area of Pheasant Run while the accident was investigated.
