We hear a lot about arguing and infighting among members of the NH House, especially across party lines. However, that is not always the case. I am writing today to publicly praise Steve Pearson, who is not the same political party as I am. However, when I needed help, he immediately came to my aid.

As a nurse, I have seen how Sununu, Trump, and DeVos’ failure to lead on school reopening is putting our students, teachers, and families at risk. Here’s how New Hampshire got here.
Look: I am well aware that all lives matter. They do. But “all lives” can’t matter until black lives matter. The reason why we say “black lives matter” is because society is treating black lives as though they DON’T matter, and that is not OK with me.
As of today, the Manchester School District has 151 vacant positions posted on their website, which includes: 26 elementary school teachers, 14 middle school teachers, 10 high school teachers, and 45 support staff.
This matter isn’t about the “durags” when it all boils down. It’s about if we unconditionally accept our students for who they are as individuals. Consider what it looks like to play that out. It means letting them wear the durags.
