Byline: FED Reviewer

We headed to Gloucester for the last July birthday celebration.  We stayed at the Hotel Beauport which is right on the water and is a perfect location to walk to dinner. 

The verdict: Not a cheap night out but perfect for a special occasion.

The first of two reviews will be of Abe & Louie’s, 793 Boylston St. in Boston and has been in existence for 21 years.  They have both outdoor and indoor seating, but you can only make a reservation for indoor seating.  Our party sat inside and had a lovely round table so we could all talk and no one was left out.  Our server was Janice and, as expected, the service was extraordinary and our party wanted for nothing.

We decided to go to Saltwater Grille in South Portland.  We did have to take the car but plenty of free parking and only about 15 minutes away from downtown.

Our foodie adventure this week is in Portland, ME, which is an easy two-hour drive from Manchester.  This could easily be done in one day but we decided to stay for two nights.  We stayed at the Press Hotel in Portland, which is an old printing factory.
