NH Army National Guard Aviation Company Deploying to Kosovo this weekend

The Concord-based, New Hampshire Army National Guard rotary unit is deploying to southern Europe later this spring in support of Operation Joint Guardian Kosovo, a long-running NATO peacekeeping mission established in 1999. The company will conduct aviation operations in support of stabilization forces, both U.S. and multi-national, operating in the area. The deployment is 11 months.

Beginning Monday, June 10, the public can expect an increase in air traffic in the greater Concord area as well as the Lakes Region. More than 100 Army National Guard aviators, crewmen and support personnel from the three states will integrate resources and training, which will focus on the transport and medical care of injured personnel.

At 31, McCassin has deployed seven times with the NH Air National Guard, with missions to Qatar, Guam, and Morón, Spain. Recently, he returned home from Qatar, where he spent four months working as an aircraft expediter, managing repairs on groups of aircraft.
