Before the pandemic closures, Kelsen Brewing in Derry made about 85 percent of its business from dine-in service, with a small portion of that being take-out. After pivoting entirely to take-out, the food side of the business, which specializes in pizza, has helped keep the company going.

ason Phelps, co-owner of Ancient Fire Mead & Cider in Manchester said sales are down about 30 percent overall, he’s had to lay off about eight part-timers and it’s become harder to find new customers during the COVID-19-related shutdowns, but he said he’s still paying his bills so far and take-out offerings have proven surprisingly popular.

While a handful of COVID-19 outbreaks in long-term care facilities have cropped up in parts of New Hampshire, there still have not been any outbreaks in the state’s prisons or jails, but officials and advocates have been working to make sure appropriate steps are taken to protect the state’s inmate and detainee populations should the virus breach the walls of a facility.
